Tiger Pussy's ALL THE WAY album launch party

If I am not mistaken, this band has been together for over 2 years. Finally, they are going to launch their first album, All the Way.

The band is fronted by Jan Sunday with Sephai on bass, Willow and Banjo on guitars and Kboi on drums. This band reminds me of Riot Grrrls and feminism. But then again, I could be wrong. Il be there on the launch party tomorrow. Hopefully Il get myself a copy of their album. See you guys, there!

check their site: http://www.myspace.com/tigerpussyrawr

bands perfoming tomorrow are:

Visayan Music Fest

I remember one of the organizers telling me that she's scared they might not be able to pull the event off. Well, the outcome was far more successful than i expected.

CROWD. 10/10.

There were a lot of people, especially on the second night. I never really thought it was possible to gather such a huge crowd in cebu.

VENUE. 6/10

The event was like Metrowalk Ortigas' fete de la musique only that the people were scattered due to the large venue. Family Park was perfect for the attempt to make a woodstock-like event. What I noticed though, was that there were not enough food stands. Food wasn't affordable and it was tiresome to go down to the street for food. The beer was too expensive! People were thinking of different ways of getting themselves drunk within their budget. They did not make the event nonstop as they promised, and the second day started almost 3 hours late. Of course, dont make promises you can't keep!

BANDS. 3/10

It couldnt be denied that all the bands who played for that event were really good. If I were to rate just the performance of the bands, I would not hesitate to give a 10. The very poor 3/10 score is for the organizers who spent too much of the production's money on paying for Manila guest bands' air fare and talent fees. Also, if they want to live up to the name of the event, they should get talents from all over Visayas. Instead of paying too much for Manila bands, they could alot that budget for boat fares and other expenses of the bands outside Cebu. Better tasting food and unlimited water is also a huge need. Lastly, they should waive the audition fee, next year. If they say that the audition fee was to cover the studio rentals, it would be understandable but unacceptable. It is tantamount to Pay-to-Play, which is now highly discouraged.

OVERALL 6/10

It was fun and new. People were stoked and of course, drunk. lol If it were not for a number of flaws caused by the organizers, it would have been awesome. As a part of the crowd, id give the event a 9, but as a member of one of the bands, id certainly give it a 6.

SUGGESTIONS

Aside from those I already mentioned, I suggest that the organizers get bands from all genres. They could talk to the heads of the numerous underground music productions. They know their bands, of course they know who to recommend.

OH WAIT. I LOVEEEDDD BAICAPTURE!

And this is my band, MIDDAY. :)

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

Hi, my name is Claire and I'm the vocalist of Midday. I got a lot of free time on my hands for the next few months, so I made this blog. I would like to point out that I am excercising my freedom of speech. Pardon my unpolished english, I was never really a good writer.

This would serve as my disclaimer. I have reason to believe that I am entitled to my own opinion. If there is anything you disagree with, you can email me thru bclerr@yahoo.com. I would really appreciate your own thoughts on matters i discuss.

I would like to attempt to cover all gigs. I am sure though, that it would be hard for me to do so, as there are numerous events in one night. I may also not be free to go to the show. I am not a journalist so if there is any bias in the choice of the bands I feature, its because I am human and no one can obstruct my free will. If anything in this site that pisses you off, I suggest you navigate away from my page.

Thank You.
